How to get a TikTok transcript
TikTok gives you burned in subtitles you cannot copy. Drop gives you the actual words as text.
TikTok is the hardest platform to quote from. The subtitles you see are painted into the video frame, the on screen text is not the same as what the creator said, and there is no transcript button anywhere. That means almost every TikTok has to be transcribed from the audio, which is exactly what Drop does by default. Paste a public link and the whole spoken script comes back as text you can search, quote and repost.
Steps

Copy the TikTok link
Tap the arrow on the right side of the video, then Copy link. In a browser the address bar link works too. Both the long tiktok.com form and the short vm.tiktok.com form are accepted.
Step 2
Drop it in
Paste the link on the homepage and press Drop it. Short clips are usually done in well under a minute.
Step 3
The audio gets transcribed
Because TikToks rarely carry a caption track, Drop goes straight to speech to text on the audio, including fast talkers and heavy background music.

Questions
- Why can I not just copy TikTok's own subtitles?
- They are rendered into the video pixels, not stored as selectable text. There is nothing to copy, which is why the audio has to be transcribed instead.
- Does it work on private accounts?
- No. The link has to open for anyone. If the account is private, download the video and upload the file to Drop instead.
- Does loud background music break it?
- Usually not. The speech model separates voice from music well on typical TikTok mixes, though a whispered voice under a loud track will always be harder.
- Can it handle languages other than English?
- Yes. The language is detected from the audio and the transcript comes back in the language spoken.
